Gottlieb Ittermann was baptized into the Congregation of EvangelicalLutheran Churches shortly after birth. He was baptized again as an adultand was accepted into the Neudorf Baptist congregation on June 1, 1891. He married Anna Pohl on November 2, 1905
in Neudorf. They arrived in NewYork in 1906. Gottlieb was also a wagon-maker (Wagenmacher) and after hearrived in North America he went to Winnipeg, Manitoba and became acarpenter. He became active in missions of the North American Baptist General
Conference, travelling from church to church, preching theGospel. The Executive Secretary of the Conference, Rev. William Kuhn,recommendd that he be ordained as a minister of the Gospel. He did atthe age of 87. |

Arthur Ittermann was baptized at the Rosenfeld Baptist Church and leftfrom there to study for the ministry at the North American BaptistSeminary in Rochester, New York. After receiving his Bachelor of Theology degree he pastored midwestern Baptist
churches in the NorthAmerican Baptist Conference. He received his Doctor of Theology degreeafter studying at the Central Baptist Seminary in Kansas City, Kansas andwas then called into service at Conference head office. In 1957 he became a professor at
the Tennessee Temple Baptist University inChatanooga, during which time he also had many speaking engagements insurrounding churches. He retired from Temple in 1980.
