Wilhelm Pohl lived with his wife in Lindenthal, Kr. Briesen,Westprussia. After WW2 they settled to GroŻ Kordshagen near Stralsund ,Mecklenburg-Vorpommern later to Bad Doberan, near Rostock, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern where his wife and his only one son died
in 1970and 1971. After his his wife and son died in 1970 and 1971, his sisterAdele suggested he move to West Germany. He lived with his sister andbrother-in-law in Aerzen, near Hameln in Niedersachsen. After his sister died, he continued living with his
brother-in-law in Aerzen until hisdeath. Wilhelm's sister and brothers in Canada tried to convince him tocome to Canada but, because he was already 79 years old, he would nothave obtained Canadian citizenship and, if he had become ill, he would have to
pay all his medical bills himself. Wilhelm died February 17,1978 in Aerzen. |
