Maxemilian Louis Robiller witnessed the residence of Ferdinand Bonin and Pauline (?) in 1900 at Holländer Chaussee 40, Elbing, Westpreußen, DEU; Apparently the houses were renumbered between 1896 and 1900. Proof are several places where the owners and tennants are simply shown under a new house number.2 Maxemilian Louis Robiller witnessed the residence of Ferdinand Bonin in 1902 at Holländer Chaussee 40, Elbing, Westpreußen, DEU; I can not include Pauline anymore as she no longer appears in the directory but may well still have been around.3 Maxemilian Louis Robiller witnessed the residence of Ferdinand Bonin in 1906 at Holländer Chaussee 40, Elbing, Westpreußen, DEU.4 Maxemilian Louis Robiller died on 9 July 1943 at Elbing, Westpreussen, DEU, at age 71; Died at 3 AM after a short sickness.5 He was buried on 14 July 1943 at Heilige Drei-Königen Friedhof, Elbing, West Prussia, DEU.6

Fritz Groß was Toolmaker/Machinist. He was born on 24 February 1906 at Elbing, West Prussia, Germany. He was the son of Albert Groß and Maria Unknown. Fritz Groß married Erna Robiller, daughter of Maxemilian Louis Robiller and Amalie Louise Bonin, on 14 September 1929 at Elbing, West Prussia, Germany. Fritz Groß emigrated on 21 January 1945 from Elbing; Traute thinks they left just after we did on this day. It may have been the 22nd. He died on 19 March 1945 at Nadelfitz in Pommerania, Poland, at age 39; Fritz was removed from the family after leaving Elbing a Polish soldier looked through the various refugee groups to collect and 'interview' each adult male. All were removed from their families never to be seen again. Nobody knows what may have happened to them. His daughter told me in an interview (4/24/95) that it may have been the fact that he had pictures of his kids in his wallet. Both kids were in the Hitler Youth and showed their pictures in uniform. Another reason may have been the fact that he worked for the Schichau firm in Elbing until the day he left their. Many were convicted of being war criminals for working there building ships and making war materials. Another reason may simply have been the fact that they were concidered to be nazis since they were not soldiers.
