Pedigree

Dorothea Maria Anna Josina Theresia de Geismar was also known as von Geismar; added by me to get German version of name into file. As a religious community it's church was called St. Dinesius in the Kirchspiel Bissendorf. It further belonged to the archdiaconate of the Probst to St Johann in the ancient Diocese of Osnabrück.

Since the bishop was also the civil lord but was restrained from judging in capital cases, he set up a separate civil jurisdiction for law and order maintenance.

Bissendorf was a Vogtei which belonged to the Amt Iburg and this belonged to the Gogericht (higher court) in Osnabrück itself. Above all stood the Prince Bishop (Fürstbischof) as lord of his country the Fürstbistum Osnabrück within the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation.
