Once you have uploaded your family tree to WorldConnect, you can locate it instantly by clicking on the link provided on the confirmation screen you receive when your database is successfully uploaded. Make note of the URL of your family tree database at WorldConnect (bookmark it) for future reference.

The URL for your database will be: http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=xxxx or the new shortened version http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/~xxxx In either case, substitute your user code for xxxx in these examples. Do not add a closing slash to these URLs.

An alternate means of accessing your own database is from the main WorldConnect page: http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/ Type your user code in the "jump to a specific database" box.

Global Search is updated nightly while the database itself is updated instantly. Therefore, you will not find your own database in a search until the day after you have uploaded it. Search results will include your own database unless you select the option to "skip database" by typing your user code into the appropriate box on the search page.
