Caspar Helftewes died in 1945 at Osnabrück, Germany; Caspar had survived the war and was killed in the last British bombing attack on the city. They used mostly incendiary type bombs and some huge combustion monsters which were all designed to kill civilians. They worked rather well.1 He was buried in 1945 at mass grave, Osnabrück, Germany; As the remains of the bombing victims were too badly burned, they were all interred together in a mass grave.2

I'm assuming for now that she was his wife.1 Ferdinand Bonin and Pauline (?) resided in 1896 at Holländer Chaussee 27, Elbing, Westpreußen, DEU; This entry is written as Friedr. Bonin. These addressbooks are notoriously error prone and I'm assuming this to have been Ferdinand. Ferdinand is shown as the owner of this address which in a later directory will have been renumbered to 40 and then later yet to 95 with a whole new streetname of Tannenberger Allee.2 Ferdinand Bonin and Pauline (?) resided in 1900 at Holländer Chaussee 40, Elbing, Westpreußen, DEU; Apparently the houses were renumbered between 1896 and 1900.
